I built RVSpot after spending three months living out of a camper van while working remotely. The existing platforms felt like they were designed for hotels — not for RV travelers who need hookup details, real Wi-Fi speeds, and the kind of information you'd only get from someone who stayed there last week.
The spark for RVSpot came from a frustrating night in Tucson. I'd booked a "full hookup" site on a major platform. What I got was a 30-amp outlet that tripped the breaker when I ran the AC, spotty Wi-Fi that cut out during a client call, and an address that put Google Maps half a mile from the actual entrance. The platform charged the park a 15% commission for that experience.
That's when I decided to build something better. Not a marketplace that extracts from operators — a platform that arms them with tools to compete. Not curated marketing photos — honest data from real stays. Not another booking engine — a directory that actually helps travelers make good decisions.
RVSpot is built around one belief: the people operating these parks — most of them small family businesses — deserve a platform that works for them, not against them.
Most booking platforms take 10–30% of every reservation as a commission. For small, independent park operators — many of them family-run businesses — that's money that should stay in their pocket, not flow to a platform.
We built RVSpot on a different model: operators pay a flat monthly fee for Park Pro, and keep 100% of every booking. Travelers get a better experience because parks aren't inflating prices to cover platform fees. Everyone wins.
We also believe that travelers deserve honest information — real Wi-Fi speeds, accurate amenity listings, and reviews from people who actually stayed there. Not curated marketing copy.
